Using A Regular SLR

This year I started getting into film photography, I got to borrow my sister's Nikon SLR the first rolls that I got was  2 Kodak-100 36 shots rolls plus my brother gave me this handy lens thingy which is called filters, I got a blue one, regular,blur edge/center yey! My first test using SLR was not great most of the shots were blank and some of the shots were too dimmed. The Second try was better but I the shots were blurred and again, dimmed. So I have to practice more to get good crystal shots. And I am dying to have an Holga, I'm planning to buy one this year hopefully, I was amazed by the photographs that I see in the net using it. The rawness, the effects, the simple error/technique the camera brings to the photograph makes it even more exciting to print.

The ART thing THINKS?

Its the protocol that you will eventually feel something for someone once your heart starts to dictate your brain. To feel for someone means that you'll soon fall inlove with that person. Love is the only real magic here in our world. God gave us love, family, friends give us love too. And having that special person in your life, to feel the love and return it is the most magical feeling in the world.

Shooting The People You Hate

Negatives, when I think about negatives there are two things that's on my mind. its a version of the film that was processed for reprints of the photos you took and another thing is something bad.

This is an art I processed because I wanted  a negative prints of a location. The art is entitled "Shooting The People You Hate" 

The Day With The Garcia's not the POLITICIANS

Last saturday, the event reunion between L4 adventure, I asked Hazel if when she will be able to come over at our house. We we're planning on this last two years ago when our family move here at Greenwoods and today it finally happened :) I invited hazel and her husband with their child to eat lunch at our house. I was planning to cook my specialty for my friends and they're the first one I ever cooked since we move. Sadly our plans to go overnight at serendra was suddenly canceled because kat wasnt allowed by her father and roy didnt want to come if it were just few to watch the gore fest, movie marathon. I was eggcited to see my inaanak because he is soooo cute, but jethro is having tantrums and all that I wasnt able to play with him much. I think he has a dad complex, joke, here are some pictures of them while we were hanging out at our garden. :) Jethro smiled for the camera! I was happy to see him smile! :))

 

You see how cuuuuuuuuteeeee he was! Adorable little munchikin.... He's like so pale and so cute! :)) Even though he is having tantrums and snobby to his ninong I was still happy co'z I got a shot of him smiling at the camera, Its really hard to capture kids laughing and smiling they dont smile right away... A lot of patience counts! :)

 
here is their wonderful family(on the right side) Hazel, Jose(Her Husband) Jethro (Their adoraaable child!) ! Hazel was my bestfriend ever since 1st year highschool! We've been through hard stone and rocks so our friendship and closeness is still intact as ever. Even if we dont see each other for a long period of time, it always feels like we just talked yesterday. And that is proven and tested.

They enjoyed Moms salad, and my chicken :) hahahaha... Tips: If you want friends to stay longer and true to you, be true to them and be honest to them and everything will work out even in tough times!

Artemorph

Hi Mi-Amigos Mi-Amigas Im doing another post on what I work about this vacation. I am still under the stress of my thesis for my multimedia production class. Why because if I dont get the revisions on time I have to stay another term at school and forget internship and that is just lame. So all I did this summer is to read more about the past works of artists, learn new things, read more about deviance of femininity(this is the chosen topic for my thesis) and this week Im starting of the painting madness, agaaaaiiinnn and baby the stress is inhabiting me.

My paper in thesis is getting really fat as in really fat all I do this summer is read read read read online. I think I need glasses, okay enough of the complain since I'm starting my paintings this week I would like to share to you guys 3 of the most amazing books I read about Arts :) I'll post the pictures. 

Its a good book to read and I learn a lot from the artist and how they became an artist where did they started and what is their inspirations for art. They help me grow in my own art too. During my thesis this books are  my prayers to God to help me create something brilliant. :) Also the contents of the book will help you a lot too if you're an aspiring artist.

 
 

 

Okay, Now lets talk about work-place since I am a multimedia arts student, I work split 50 percent on my little useful box and my studio(our garage) and I stack my paintings at our dining area so our house is like a museum of paintings. I mean my thesis is really huge, as in real huge.

The inspirations behind all of the paintings well ofcourse my family, especially my mom. Old Letters and keepsakes, letters from my Ditse, the ones she gave me during my birthdays. All of it are really special so when I loose inspirations I just look at them and I get happy and excited to start art.

Going Back To The Monster Roots

I am really not a great sketcher but I practice sketching really hard, Before I shifted to multimedia arts I always draw a lot and give them to my friends I end up saving nothing for me. But this are my past sketches, actually unfinished sketches that I made using pencil, oilsticks, and pencil colors. Before I started painting this is actually the first things that hook me up to art aside from my overly large imagination when I was a kid.

  I love sketching my models differently, I know that I see my models in a different perspective especially when I draw them. This gives them distinguished character that can make you see what kind of personality they have as human being. This is also what I do most in my photography, I always want to catch certain emotion that distinguished them differently to other people. Here are some of my sketches I did when I was still an I.T student.

During my 2nd year at college I shifted to multimedia arts I realized that art is really my thing and plus someone inspired me to be an artist I deeply believe that person that I could do great in art. And I owe that person for everything I do in art. 

My first major subject in multimedia arts was Freehand, where your hands and your concentration will be tested. Our professor was Sir Angelo Magno, an artist his thing in art is heads. :) I dont know but his art is amazingly crazy beautiful. Here is our excersises to him during our Freehand class where hell spawns every little patience in my body because of the hell he gave us in practicing drawing. 

 

 

And here are some of my sketches I made when I was so bored. Boredom is something I always encounter so I always do something to escape it.

A lot of my drawings maybe not good in your eyes, but hey they are perfectly brilliant because I achieve what I wanted to accomplished from my drawings, to give them life. When you look closely to them you'll see what I mean. 

I'm posting this to tell you friends that It's not too late to do what you want in your life. It's not too late to accomplish what you want to accomplish. And dream big cause God is big! :)

The L4 is back on track but not Fashion Wreck

The L4 is back on track, this time we're 5 not 4 and we didnt get lost this time thanks to ayamiharu's husband we were able to get to greenhills hassle free(we rode a car). As many of you dont know ayamiharu, imisskatv, jmreyes and I have been friends since highschool. During our highschool we usually go out and have fun L4 was created last 8 years ago when we were supposed to go to robinson's galleria and we rode the wrong bus going there. Instead of galleria we were dropped off at Ali-Mall. Its a curse I tell you just kidding, after almost a decade we finally get together again on an adventure last saturday.

We were planning to watch a movie since jmreyes arrived late we werent able to watch any movies. imisskatv invited us to Nail It grand opening also same venue at greenhills. Though we werent invited thanks to her we were able to lavish ourselves with free picture,free foods, and a 50 percent discount to any services at their branch except the packages. We enjoyed ourselves with massage. 

We went home super enjoyed. For people who is interested to go to NAIL IT. Just go to http://misskatv.blogspot.com/ for the address of the shop at greenhills. The Nail It has already many branches here in Manila. Their Services are really affordable and comfortable. The Crazy Thing About My Art

Okay as a failed blogger on my first blog, Here I am again starting off a new one. An official blogsite of  mr. daddy longlegs it will talk about paintings, photography, digital artworks, favorite things that I collect, hangout places and etc.  Since its a mix of what I always do in my entire time as a multimedia artist here in the philippines. here goes a blog about the contest I currently joined in.

Okay,  have you heard about Metrobank's (MADE) visual art painting, sculpture, architecture design contest. I think the call for entries started out last year, december, Im not sure whether I got the month bullseyed or not.
 
 I joined it again this year with my entry entitled Babae. I pass it before its deadline may 7, 2011 at Metrobank's head office. I dont know what kind of art I make or what kind of style it projets but I make them in my own interpretation of what I see and what I feel and what I research. The artist that influenced me to paint is Sir Kirby Roxas, also an artist here in the philippines. Okay, My thesis  for my MAPROD, was about deviant women in our society(deviance of femininity ) Im contrasting it to carl jung's feminine archetypes. And since Maprod gave me a looooot of stress I needed to cut it out for a minute and do another painting. So I did my entry for MADE, it still talks about deviance of femininity base on my research. So I did the archetype "WHORE". After reading a book that my sister gave me. I started to paint an action painting I dance, grind, step let out all of my emotion like jackson pollock wants to be close and personal with his art. And now heres the tricky part, since I use oil paints I waited for it to be a lil bit dry so I can sculpt it to my desire image. I repainted the action painting and  re-paint and sculpt it to an action image of a woman being use by a man. I dont know if people will see it the way I see it but I believe and hope that it will.

The last thing I did was scattered some white oil paint to make it look like sperm of different men who use the body of the woman. The woman gets to experience shock and dismay.
